By accessing or using Dead Link Crawler (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Dead Link Crawler is a web-based tool that crawls a URL you provide and returns a report of broken or unreachable links found on that site. The Service is provided free of charge; optional account features require registration.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Submit URLs to sites you do not own or do not have explicit permission to crawl.
• Use the Service to conduct denial-of-service attacks or to intentionally overload third-party servers.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service’s API beyond normal usage.
• Use automated scripts or bots to submit large numbers of crawl requests in a short period.
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these rules.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.

5. Intellectual Property

All software, design, and content on the Service (excluding scan results you generate) are owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that crawl results will be complete or accurate. Factors such as robots.txt rules, firewalls, rate limiting by target servers, and JavaScript-rendered content may affect results.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is zero).

8. Third-Party Sites

When you submit a URL, the Service makes HTTP requests to that third-party site on your behalf. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any third-party website. Crawling a site does not constitute an endorsement of that site.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
